The Making of a Collection: Documentation and Archives
Wednesday, May 15, 2019, 6-8 pm

Third discussion of The Making of a Collection, Demisch Danant’s salon-style series focusing on the process of collecting; and the research and expertise, both professional and personal, behind the making of a meaningful collection. Guest speakers will share their stories and their knowledge, representing different points of views.

In tandem with our current exhibition Sheila Hicks: Line by Line, Step by Step, this discussion will focus on the various forms and motives of documentation and archives of objects, art, restoration, artist’s archives and collections—what is the importance of it, how does it affect authenticity and value and how do you do it?

Joining Suzanne Demisch, the guest speakers all have different experiences with documentation. The discussion is salon-style and we encourage all to participate.
