Demisch Danant presents Home is Where Your Art Is

Paris, France– Demisch Danant is proud to take part in the upcoming edition of FAB PARIS (Fine Art Paris - La Biennale), held from November 22-26 at the Grand Palais Ephémère.

For its debut at the fair, Demisch Danant plans to transform its booth into the interior of a contemporary collector – extending beyond the conventional boundaries of art or design curation. The presentation, titled ‘Home is where your art is,’ will juxtapose furniture from the 1960s and 1970s including pieces by Maria Pergay, Joseph-André Motte, Serge Mansau, Janette Laverrière, Colette Gueden, Bernard Govin, Michel Boyer, contemporary design pieces by Mathieu Lehanneur, Jacques Grange, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, works by 19th-century painter Eugène Isabey, 20th-century artists Eugène Leroy and César, as well as contemporary conceptual artist Loris Gréaud.

By recreating the intimate setting of a collector's private space, Demisch Danant aims to provide visitors with a unique experience, inviting them to explore the multitude of stories woven into each piece on display, as well as the dialogue that unfolds between the works. As the art market tends to compartmentalize, Demisch Danant strives to challenge these boundaries by opening up possibilities for new perspectives.

Demisch Danant’s intention to join FAB is fueled by a deep belief in the event's great potential to become a leading interdisciplinary moment for the Parisian and international creative scenes alike. Taking an exciting leap, the gallery sees FAB as an opportunity to challenge norms, particularly considering the limited representation of galleries specializing in 20th-century Decorative Arts and Design at such events.

"We are drawn to the innovative spirit of FAB and the open-minded perspective carried out by its organizers," says Stéphane Danant. "While our gallery has long been recognized for its focus on French post-war design, our journey has also led us to explore unconventional paths, showcasing international artists who convey narratives beyond mere decoration. We're excited to share them at FAB.”

The participation to FAB PARIS wraps Demisch Danant's vibrant Fall in Paris programming series, which kicked off earlier this season with the gallery's involvement in the inaugural Design Miami/ Paris fair, the launch of the Galleries in Residence exhibition program in collaboration with Galerie Anne-Sophie Duval, and the co-presentation of Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance's ‘Made In Situ’ exhibition.

Visit Demisch Danant at FAB PARIS from November 22 to 26 at booth C29.
