about

We are excited to reopen our gallery in New York City with Fresh Air, an exhibition that explores French design through the veil of summer's charm—its daydreams, colors, and relaxed mood—all expressed here through a palette of blues and whites.

Highlights showcase a new work by Sheila Hicks I Wish I Was a Wave (2020), a collection of Alain Jacquet paintings including La Plage (1970), and several new acquisitions.

Along with design objects on view, the show includes three captivating collages made by Suzanne Demisch’s thirteen-year-old son Marlowe during the quarantine that took us all from winter to spring. Another Perspective expresses his desire to “get away from quarantine and sail off in a magical boat.” Fanciful, surreal, and bold, these intimate collages contributed to the inspiration for the tranquil and airy assemblages of works we selected to welcome our friends back to the gallery.

We all need a breath of fresh air.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
